The Evans TT13HBG Hydraulic Black is a 13-inch tom batter head that delivers the fat, deep, short-sustain tones made famous by early-70s rock — think John Bonham-era punch with instant tuneability. Its dual-ply construction sandwiches a thin layer of oil between two plies of film, which dampens sustain naturally while pushing attack and low-end forward. The result is a thick, focused tom sound that sits powerfully in the mix without needing additional muffling. The Hydraulic series is also famously forgiving to tune, making it an excellent choice for troublesome drums or players who want great tone straight out of the box.
