Description

The Allparts BN-0206-000 is a pre-slotted bone nut with a radiused bottom — designed as a direct replacement for the stock synthetic nut on Fender Stratocaster, Telecaster, and similar Fender-style electric guitars. Made from genuine bone in the USA. The radiused bottom matches the curved neck heel profile of Fender-style necks for a flush, stable fit without additional fitting work on the bottom surface.

Why Bone — Upgrade from Synthetic

Most production guitars ship with a synthetic nut made from plastic, TUSQ, or similar materials. Bone is widely regarded as the premium nut material for acoustic and electric guitars — it is harder and denser than most synthetics, providing better string vibration transfer, improved sustain, and a brighter, more resonant open-string tone. Bone also self-lubricates slightly as the strings wear into the slots, reducing tuning friction and improving tuning stability. Replacing a stock synthetic nut with a bone nut is one of the most cost-effective tone and playability upgrades available for a production guitar.

Radiused Bottom — Fender Neck Profile

The BN-0206-000 has a radiused (curved) bottom surface that matches the curved heel profile of Fender-style bolt-on necks — allowing the nut to sit flush in the nut slot without rocking or requiring the bottom to be sanded flat. This is the correct nut profile for most Fender Stratocaster and Telecaster necks. Confirm your neck's nut slot profile before ordering — some necks have a flat-bottomed nut slot and require a flat-bottom nut instead.

Pre-Slotted — Ready to Fit with Minor Adjustment

The nut comes pre-slotted for six strings at standard Fender string spacing. Minor slot depth adjustment by a guitar technician is typically required to set correct action at the nut for your specific string gauge and playing preference. This is normal for any pre-slotted nut replacement.
